Paesaggi generativi. Sperimentazioni progettuali sul tema dello spazio aperto:flussi, pratiche e usi quotidiani

The public space, meant as a system of open spaces distributed within the various building episodes, represents, in the contemporary city, a possible place for resolving conflicts, becoming the bearer of instances as well as spatial and morphological, environmental and social issues. It is investigated starting from its being lived and enjoyed by the inhabitant, being able to live in the open air, being able to walk freely within landscapes capable of weaving close relationships with man. This leads to a methodology and a research of experimentation and reformulation of the multi-criteria project: between planning and landscape design, between the direction of complexity and the project of diversity. In fact, Freespace, a term that encloses and condenses the theme of the Sixteenth Architecture Biennale, brings with it a series of meanings and references that can be translated into various apparently distant meanings, but deeply connected. Freespace means civilization of living and integration. Freespace means shared space and sociality. Freespace means democracy and urbanity and it finds its meaning precisely in the meeting of free - space and space of freedom.

Il contributo affronta il tema della costruzione dello spazio pubblico fortemente legato alla rigenerazione urbana. Partendo da premesse teoriche elaborate dagli autori si cerca di comprendere il vero ruolo e significato dello spazio libero urbano per formulare risposte progettuali con validità concreta nella costruzione della città contemporanea. I temi affrontati sono presentati attraverso tre casi studio.
